Internet Connection Requirements for NinjaTrader Platform

For optimal trading on NinjaTrader, NT8, and the NinjaTrader 8 platform, prioritize a high-speed, low-latency internet connection, ideally with a wired connection, using a fiber optic plan from your IS.

Connection Type: Use a hardwired high-speed internet connection. Wireless and satellite connections can drop packets or have poor latency. Always use a wired connection over Wi-Fi to minimize potential lag and packet loss. Wi-Fi is not recommended, and VPS servers are not the best choice. Use Wi-Fi connections and VPS servers at your own risk. 

Speed: aim for at least 250 Mbps or higher - 500 Mbps to 1 Gbps download speed.

Latency: Low latency is crucial for fast trade execution, so check your ISP's advertised latency figures. Aim for minimal latency to ensure smooth data flow and trade execution in real-time.

Stability: Look for a reliable internet provider with a consistent connection to avoid disruptions during trading hours. Wi-Fi connections and VPS servers are not recommended because of a lack of bandwidth control, computer components sharing, and software conflicts.
